Currently, wireless sensor network increasingly has been a hotspot which has researched by many research institutions and many countries around the world. It becomes rapidly the intensive cross of many disciplines because of their attention. It is no doubt that its development and application is full of new energy from many famous companies joined in. WSN compatibles with the sensor network technology, network technology, wireless communication technology, microelectronics, signal processing and computer technology and other high-tech information technology. Results on existing technology and research position, he has gradually deeped from aspects of the military to people's lives. Such as industrial automation, environmental monitoring, medical, aviation and even the household, etc.. In future, sensor networks will be towards the air, space, sea, land, underground integrated sensor network integration direction, the same end,ti will change people's way of life such as the Internet, so the technology research and attention is necessary.This paper introduces basic knowledge of wireless sensor network, and knowledge relates wireless sensor network, a brief history, the similarities and differences between traditional wireless networks and characteristics of the structure (including architecture and device structure), study situation abroad and foreign, and technical problems encountered in the research process. Then, describes the support technologies of the wireless sensor network in hardware and software. Including uses of the network protocol, routing, medium access layer, the process of establishing network and other parts of the technical details in the development situation. Focusing ZigBee/802.15.4 agreement used in laboratory, detailing the characteristics of ZigBee standards. Finally, in Partâ…¢, introducing a solution in existing designs:Analysis of ZigBee protocol on the physical layer, MAC layer and network layer functions. The core design of coordinators and terminal equipments in system includes CC2430. Then establishing a sensor network data acquisition system in a simple star topology. The design results verify the availability of ZigBee protocol stack, and the feasibility of practical application of wireless sensor network information system.The system designed in this article achieves some good experiences and references for researchers, improvement of IEEE802.15.4/ZigBee standard and application of wireless sensor networks have accumulated some good experiences in this design, some hardware and software experiences in the wireless sensor network technology in all aspects of further applications have been provided in this design. as well as, the appropriate research and improvement of the ZigBee protocol have been got from that.
