Wireless Optical Communication (WOC) is a means of communication with huge potential, which is becoming rival powers of the potential coupled with optical fiber communication in the world. The vehicl wireless laser communication is its specific form on the ground. It provides a new means of wireless communication for military applications. It has many merits, such as having high confidentiality, without taking up the limited radio frequency resources, achieving performance complementary at the same time apply with existing radio communication equipment and substantial increase in the speed of information transmission. Therefore, it can greatly improve Communicat -ion and information exchange capabilities of weapon system in the harsh electromagnet -ic environment. It indicates that the vehicle wireless laser communication plays an important role in the military applications.This dissertation is about the research and design of the two types of optical transmission module of the vehicle wireless laser communication transmitter. On the basis of the study on the system components and key technologies of wireless laser communications transmitters, this dissertation has studied beacon transmitter module and signal transmitter module of wireless laser communication transmitter in both theory and experiment. In the background of vehicle wireless laser communications applications, the two transmitter modules have been designed, which are suitable for long-distance communications and have high output of optical power. Besides, detailed analyes of each circuit design principle of them are also shown. The measured results show that the two types of modules designed can meet the requirements of technical specifications. Based on the conclusion of previous work, this thesis work and contributions are reflected in the following aspects:1. In the design of beacon light-driven circuit, driven voltage has been set at a constant value so as to further make laser drive current stable by automatic gain control circuit, Makes the drive current control accuracy is better. What's more, the driven current has less disturbance by an auxiliary external temperature control circuit.2. In the design of beacon light pulse circuit, FPGA has been used to design pulse signal source, and software programming adjustable has been used to output frequency, that make the result that even if the output pulse frequency is 5Hz, but the driving laser pulse frequency is still 10KHz or higher. This design can greatly protect the laser, and also short duration of on-state power conversion makes the power decreased during the power conversion.3. On the design of the signal optical transmitter module, the high gain output sign -al light is achieved by use of optical fiber communication technology in the design of the EDFA module , which is a good solution to deal with the conflict between the output optical power with modulation frequency. The module is easy to upgrade, usually need only to replace the low-power signal source, the cost of upgrading is low.
