Design And Implementation Of Centralized Storage SAN-based Backup System

With development of IT business of Beijing mechatronic engineering general designing department (hereinafter referred to the design department), More and more daily work and business need to depend on the computer system to assist processing and complete. The information centre which is the relevant management department of the computer system of the design department and the net is currently facing inflating data quantity, more and more complex data types, and the more multiplatform environment changing with each passing day as well as 24 hours uninterruptedly key database data quantity increasing dramatically and the urgent data storage needing to be solved and a variety of challenges. But the time is very limited for the manager of the computer system and net, and the traditional backup method make the management personnel bite off more than they can chew. Therefore, currently the safe and efficient data backup is the important issue of the design department. It is not only the foundation of scientific decision, good operation and rapid development, but also relevant to the image of the design department as well as the enterprise benefit. It is no doubt that data backup system will be more and more important in the application of the design department.This article introduced the basic theory and common technology of data backup and net storage, analyzed the current backup situation of Beijing mechatronic engineering general designing department. It also stated the disadvantage of the current data backup, for example, some data base can not make date backup, and some key database can not complete online hot backup and so on. According to these disadvantages, this article put forward the design based on the data backup of SAN. In this plan, make full use of the current network resource, backup equipment, building redundant storage centralized integration FC SAN (Storage Area Network) network, expanding capacity of disk array up to 20TB of the backup system of Beijing mechatronic engineering general designing department, also will build a set of backup system based on disk backup system, and make a set of effective long-term construction plan.
