Online Examination System Design And Implementation

Along with the rapid development of computer technology and Internet technology, the expansion of applied field of network, a new challenge has presented to the traditional means of education, the teaching methods, the test methods and the teaching environments as the development requirement of information-based education based on Internet to be the primary method. And the educators start to think and implement the brand new teaching environment and educational teaching platform based on the network resources in campus which will not affect by the time and distance. The change of examination as one of the educational as sessments from traditional thesis-based to paperless and Internet-based has becomes the trend of the time, and that the reason why online examination systems based on web appears. Different from the traditional exams, online exam systems make the functions of computers to select questions, assemble papers, rater, and scores giving automatically, this not only makes teachers free from the heavy work in exams, but also improves the efficiency and makes the exams more standard, which can reflect the real effect of teaching more objective, really and comprehension, and that is good for the improvement of teaching quality. Based on those advantages, this thesis proposes the design and implementation of online examination system based on Web which adopts the ASP technology.The online exam system in this paper has adopts the B/S architecture and is implemented under the idea of modular design, the system implemented meets the requirements of operation simply, using easily, system robust and security. Based on the analysis of requirements and system design, this paper adoptsASP page programming technology and Microsoft Access Database to realize the system. The system has the candidates'module and management module, including the system register, candidates management, questions management, assemble papers, online exam, score giving automatically, the analysis and statistic of the result of exams. The system realizes the real exam automatically and modern, meeting the basic requirements and the design at first. The thesis will introduces the background of online exam system, the state-of-the-art of online exam system home and abroad, the trends of online exam system are also analyzed, online exam systems are the development trends of the conjunction of network technology and modern education. The concepts and theories about online exam systems are presented, and the key technologies in the system development such as ASP and ADO are introduced in details. Then at the basis of analysis of feasibility and requirements of the online exam system, detailed design and realization have been done. Some means and methods are adopted to have a system testing, which are the verifications for the functional correctness and effectiveness. At last, the overall design and implementation of the system are summarized, which points out the features and deficiencies of the system. And the outlooks for the further work are pointed out.
