SOI PDP Scan Design Of Driving Circuit

Plasma Display Panel (PDP) is one of the mainstream flat panel displays in the current market. PDP is praised for its good display effect, long life time, wide viewing angle, high response speed, thinness, etc, which is very suitable for high resolution digital TV and public display application. As its core technology, using high and low voltage compatible process, driver IC has high technical content and has been grasped in the overseas company. China is still in the development stage and hasn't mature product, so design of PDP driver IC has vital significance.The purpose of this paper is to design a PDP scan driver IC based on SOI (Silicon on Insulator). Compared with traditional silicon process, SOI has higher speed, lower power dissipation, high integration, better isolation, less parasitic effects, higher reliability, etc.A PDP scan driver IC based on SOI is introduced in this paper, the primary coverage include the development of PDP, the working principle of PDP display, the design concept, circuit simulation, layout and process. The paper has summarized the function of scan driver IC in PDP, and detailed the design of scan driver circuit. According to its functions, the PDP scan driver IC can be divided into pin circuit, bidirectional shift register, latch, selector and high-voltage level shift circuit. The paper has detailed each part of circuit structure, realization form and logical functions, and has carried on the simulation and confirmation for each circuit; the whole circuit and some essential pin's logical control function used the circuit simulation software HSPICE simultaneously. The simulation result has achieved the design objective.The design of 96-bit PDP scan driver IC based on SOI material, which has 11μm top layer silicon and 1μm buried oxide. At this present writing the flow has been completed, and the IC can light up the dynamic point of display successfully.
