Expansion Of Research, Methods Of Architecture-based Modeling Tool

Architecture is"the structure of components, their relationships, and the principles and guidelines governing their design and evolution over time."In USA, architecture technology becomes the main mean and gist of assessing new operation concept, analyzing operation capability, making investment decision, evaluating the level of information systems interoperability and making operations plan. So it is important theoretic and realistic signification on the research of the architecture technology.First, the paper introduces the background and meaning of the research, summarizes and analyses Department of Defense Architecture Framework and architecture design principles and main steps, emphasizes on products and data centric architecture design methodology. Then architecture modeling tools are introduced, System Architect (SA) and its extensibility is emphasized.The paper is focused on Core Entity-Based Methodology (CEBM) integrated architecture design methodology. Architecture objects classification is presented, architecture core entity and core product are defined, and the relationships between core entities are analyzed. Then, the paper comments on basic principles, analyses its workflow steps and presents the workflow steps of architecture products development by SA. Standard and template of architecture design based on Visio are provided. The template is made use of designing architecture products without architecture modeling tools. Mapping tool(Visio Mapper) of Visio to SA is developed by VBA interface integrated in SA. The tool can map the products in Visio to SA, which is helpful for gathering, storing and maintaining of architecture data, is efficient to integrating, reusing and analyzing of architecture. The paper emphasizes on designing and developing of mapping tool, discusses design flow and function particularly.At last, on the background of aerial defense system of critical area, architecture core products are developed by the template. Then the products are mapped to SA by mapping tool. The availability of CEBM, template and mapping tool are validated.
