Warning radar is capable of detecting and tracking moving targets in air, on land or on sea. It's a critical part of national homeland defense system. And the performance of radar signal processor has great impact on the stability and detection capability of the whole radar system. With the development of IC technology, the requirement of signal processing speed as well as the precision have raised rapidly, which leading to the gradual transfer of signal processing from analogy domain to digital domain. The algorithm and its application of digital signal processing for different radar systems have become an active research field.Researches, which are based on certain proximity warning radar, are carried out aiming at the following two aspects:1. The radar echo is processed by several steps, including digital down conversion, pulse compression, moving target indication, moving target detection and constant false alarm rate processing. This dissertation introduces these theories and the commonly used realization methods in details. And each function block is designed and simulated in the Matlab according to the system requirements.2. The radar signal processing is realized in FPGA, which is developed in Quartusâ…ˇ9.0 by VHDL language and Altera IP core, based on the simulation of each function block. And the hardware platform is EP3SE110F780 which belongs to Altera Stratixâ…˘series.After debugging and modification, the simulation results show that the design has fulfilled the system requirements.
