Signal detection is always attached great importance to all countries subject, and in the national economy, especially in the military field, it has a very important role. CFAR detection is the main way of the radar target detection. In CFAR processing, we have developed a variety of CFAR detectors. Based on the theory of radar signal detection, some classical CFAR detectors are studied, and their performances are discussed in this paper.The VI-CFAR detector, which has the advantages of CA-CFAR detector, GO-CFAR detector and SO-CFAR detector, has the advantages of good detection performance in homogeneous environment, and also shows good robustness in nonhomogeneous environment. However, if the interfering targets are present in both half windows, the use of the window with the smallest mean is affected by them and therefore results in a performance degradation. In this paper, we improve its robustness by making the VI-CFAR switch to the OSCMCA-CFAR in multiple target situations. Computer simulations verify the analysis ahead. It shows that the IVI-CFAR keeps a constant false alarm rate with higher probability of detection and lower probability of target masking in clutter edge environments, and is with a lower CFAR loss in homogeneous environments. Finally, we make track cohesion for the result of the CFAR process to filter strong clutter-point mark and merge the true target track.
