With the rapid development of e-commerce platform, unified and effective management of business processes has become an urgent need. The existing services can be described systematically and integrated organically by Web services technology to adaptive to service demands of users. Besides the fundamentals established by Web Service standards and specifications, the problems still exist in the real situations of implementing a robust e-Business application, e.g., the gap between graphical specification and technical standard of business process, the demand of collaboration work for designing complex business process. In order to address the problem described above, the thesis focuses on the flow study of Web Services. Based on the development of an e-commerce website, we analyze the mechanism of flow modeling and management during the real e-commerce process. We thus discuss a novel mechanism of collaborative business process management. As the summarization of the theoretical study, we implement the corresponding prototype system. Major study of this thesis focuses on the following issues:1. A detailed study of the existing portfolio of Web services technology in business process management model, as well as the improvement of uniformity and efficiency of flow management;2. Analysis of the characteristics and scope of the existing Flow Description Language of Web Services. A mapping strategy between XPDL and BPMN specification is discussed in order to improve the compatibility between the flow languages and the universality of flow management system;3. Study of a new collaborative process management mechanism is studied based on the analysis of the trends of collaborative Service flow management, to improve the applicability and extensibility of flow management system;4. Design and implementation of the corresponding prototype system to embody the results of this thesis.
