An electric power user engineering is a dynamic, complicated, volatile and except frequently system engineering. A workflow is the automatically execution of business processes with computers. This thesis studied the ideas, methods, theory, techniques and productions about workflow. It also discussed the suitability and expressiveness of modeling the electric power user engineering by UML 2.0 activity diagram based on the analysis of the related standards from WfMC and the semantics of the UML 2.0 activity diagram.With the analysis of the features of the electric power user engineering in the power industry, this thesis proposes a workflow modeling language and a workflow modeling method named activity-association analysis. The ideas and key points of the method are introduced in details. Moreover, the principles of the approach are summarized. It is a structured analysis approach. By the study on the life cycle of the electric power user engineering, the problem of the volatility of the electric power engineering business process is solved basically.After the introduction about the last jBoss jBPM implementation, this thesis shows the mapping between the electric user engineering modeling language and jPDL. Following the principles of an architecture design, the architecture for the electric user engineering is presented. A couple of issues, such as the electric user engineering workflow definition, the interface between the workflow system and the current system—SG186, resource binding, timer, version management, handoff of tasks and assignment, are designed by the idea of structured design under the architecture. A prototype system based on JBoss jBPM is implemented and some interfaces are shown finally.
