The semiconductor lasers are used more and more widely in many fields, its power supply also has been paid more attentions by more people. If digital chips are used to control laser power, the hardware structure of laser power supply can be simplified,cost performance is improved, the stability of power supply and accuracy are enhanced, automatic control is strengthened and its function is easy expanded. Digitization,intelligent is the inevitable developing direction of the semiconductor lasers Power.Switching mode power supply has many advantages such as small volume, high efficiency, good stability, completely and so on, it is used widely under electrical energy situation. By comparing and analyzing, power factor correction circuit and forward converter circuit are used, and micro-controller unit is used to control and protect system. Semiconductor laser power mainly by the following components: power factor correction circuit, double forward circuit, switch drive circuit, control circuit, protection circuits, auxiliary power supplies and so on.The semiconductor laser power supply was analyzed, the power scheme was gave, and the main circuit power supply describe in detail, given the parameters of the calculation and selection of devices, and the power factor control circuit and the PWM wave generator circuit was designed. 16-bit micro-controller unit produced by INFENION corporation was used for intelligent control system in semiconductor laser power, and the working principle of intelligent control systems and hardware structure were described. the software of semiconductor laser power was described. Finally, the system hardware and software were debugged. the system was tested on the machine adjustment. System work well and protection function work normally, constant current output is achieved; The final Results show that the design task is completed successfully.The semiconductor laser power supply has constant-current output, switching power supply and micro-controller system is used to make the laser power supply is small, well-protected, high intelligence and convenient operation.
