The modern enterprise in the process of productioin or electronic commerce have to generate and exchange large amounts of data. These data were produced by different applications, have different formats and significance. How to process and transmit these data effectively has a profound impact on improving the efficiency of enterprises, facilitating data storage and exchange, realizing business process automation. The appearance of Extensible Markup Language XML caused stir in the Web world,it has numerous advantages of self-describe, the extendibility, the flexibility, the cross-platform, object-oriented,etc. Therefore, data conversion based on XML has become the important link for enterprise to solve these problems above.Based on deep research of XML grammar and related standard, from the differences in document structure and organization this dissertation first roughly divided conversion into three kind of situations, and for each kind of situation has proposed the different conversion ideas and achieving methords.Secondly, through the research of XML document object model, this dissertation proposed the designing ideas of editor engine based on DOM.This thought take object-oriented theory as guide,XML documents will be seen as a tree structure, through node operation instead of text operation.Based on the research above, this dissertation ultimately design and realize multi-data conversion and edition system based on XML technology. This system not only supports the new build, open, save, edit and basic word processing function for standard XML file, but also supports many other functions, such as intellectualized edition environment, multiple perspectives of view browsing, multi-type data conversion as well as supporting valid confirmation by schema file.
