As the development of electronic countermeasure technology, the required operating distance of military radar, such as airborne, ship borne, satellite, airship, etc, become further and further; the maneuverability become stronger and stronger; and the reliability become higher and higher. So accordingly , radar requires the travelling-wave tube to be high in power, small in volume and light in weight. Because of the requirement of the radar combat skill norm, there must be a necessary object that can satisfy the strict requirement----that is the non-acquisition grid-controlled electron gun of high perveance in pulse travelling-wave tube.In view of the perfect performance showed by the non-acquisition grid-controlled electron gun that are lower controlling voltage, excellent laminarity, strong rigidity of electron beam and the low acquisition of the grid current, the grid-controlled travelling wave tube plays a important part in the development of modern microwave tube.According to the basic design principle of the pulse grid-controlled electron gun and the request for application of the tube, a non-acquisition grid-controlled electron gun with high perveance, high compression radio and high direct current operational voltage was designed and made in this thesis.(1) The guiding ideology and physical model of the computer design was analyzed, and then, an effective electric pole design project for the design of the non-acquisition grid-controlled electron gun was presented.(2) The influence to electron trajectory created by the thickness of the negative grid, the thickness of the controlled grid and the position of the grid mesh were studied through the shape of the grid mesh, the design and the calculation of the structure.(3) Through the consideration for the thermal design of negative pole to ensure the thermal extension. Both the improvement to laminarity made by negative pole plate and the influence to the performance of the gun made by across track lead by negative pole filleted corner were discussed also.(4) The optimization of the electronic parameters of the non-acquisition grid-controlled electron gun. Preparing of the corresponding electron gun and assembling in travelling wave tube to do the test.(5) Study of the preparation skill. Heterogeneity on the electrode, evaporation of the negative pole active substance, microne pollution, affect of the distance between the poles and high voltage breakdown of the electron gun insulated ceramic; all of these are the major reasons that would affect the vacuum insulation. This thesis gave the technical measures to solve the spike.The result of actual test indicated that the design data and the test result are accordant well, and the optimized electron gun that is applied to the C wave range pulse grid controlled travelling wave tube gained the comparatively good overall performance.
