Baosteel 1800 Strip Monitoring System Developed

As the development of Baosteel 1800 factory, it is much possible that the steel band will run away from the center of roller. It is monitored by human's eyes traditionally. Operator will produce alarm message and record the information if there is something happened. But using this method the body will not persist long before becoming tired, and unable for the processing data and video stream to be combined for analysis and management, and it also depends on operator's experience.In view of the problem above mentioned, the author adopts computer information technology such as video monitoring, image processing and database to develop this surveillance system. This system monitors the steel production line in real time. Through the video from camera and data from upper computer, the system gives the analysis result and save them. Operator can look up the information and analyses them easily and conveniently.This paper firstly introduces the basic knowledge about image processing and gives the compare result in this special background. It uses a creative method in this system——Extracts edge information in picture through canny algorithm, and clear up the noise by seed grow, finally combined Hough transform to finish the location of the edge of steel band. In this paper author describes the design ideas about this system in details. And also describes the composed way of this system. Author compares the encoding ways in video storage and gives the design principles. Besides this, this paper also discusses the realized of each function and the using of network technology, database technology, and multithread technology in this system. At last this paper gives real using result and its performance, and also gives the suggestion for improving.
