Signature commentator's articles are new commentation style for Party newspapers since the starting of the reform and opening up policy. While representing the editorial statements, it values independence of thinking and flexibility of writing, and plays an important role during the course of China's reform and opening up as well as its establishing and perfecting of socialist market economic system. Among Chinese local Party newspapers, Jiefang Daily is considered as standard in signature commentator's articles writing. This paper summaries its developing process, main characteristics and trend which is enlighting to Party newspaper's "discourse system" and "rhetorical mode" in the new dacade, as well as to its development.Through historical analysis, this article summaries its origination, development and change of Jiefang Daily's signature commentator's articles during 1991 to 2008, and finds that its development was directly impacted on several ideolagical debates during the course of reform and opening up. Also, through content analysis, this paper finds its trend to be shorter, more daily appearance and diversity of Jiefang Daily's signature commentator's articles.Through context interpretation and comparative analysis, this paper focuses on studying its unique characteristics of Jiefang Daily's signature commentator's articles and finds that it carries a distinctive "Jiefang style" in topic selecting, title using, argumentation and language using. Such characteristics represents the trend of commentation development.Considering the requirements of history and bettering the Party's governing capability, this article simply starts to summarise the reasons and rules of such concept as "writing comments on behave of leaders" like "Shenyan" comments on Jiefang Daily. With a new media enviroment and changing media forms, the signature commentator's articles of Jiefang Daily needs to valus agenda setting and change from "political commentator based" to "news oriented". Only by this way can it better maintain its authotity and accuracy of Party newspaper comments, thus to effectively use its social influence and credibility.
