When the wave of television reforms which aims at audience subdivision and TV channel specialization encounters the flourishing feminism, the professional Women TV Channel began to emerge and has gradually formed a certain scale. At present there are six Women TV Channels in China. They are Heilongjiang Women TV Channel, Changsha Women TV Channel, Guangxi TV, Sichuan Women & children TV Channel, Jiangsu Channel Dressy and Urumqi Women & children TV Channel. How to make full use of resources, build the core competitiveness and reconstruct its brand image are what all the Women TV Channels should concern about.This thesis analyses the current status of China's Women TV Channels from a macro perspective, discusses business model of American Women TV Channels, and takes the Lifetime television and Guangxi Women's Channel as cases study, provides strategies for development of women's TV channel. And hopes the essay can offer some useful suggestions for the research on China's Women TV Channels and promotes the development of China's Women's Channel.The first part is the introduction section, it gives us a brief introduction of the background, the goal and significance of the research, the literature review and study methods. The literature review presents a summary from three aspects, namely for research on women and communication, TV channel specialization and Women'TV channels.Part two is a brief introduction of the development of Women'TV Channel. It gives the definition of specialized channels, dates back the history of TV programs from TV Column stage to specialized channels stage, and analyses related communication theories which this thesis bases on. And briefly introduces the condition of domestic Women' TV Channel and abroad.Part three is an analysis to the American Lifetime television, presents its characteristics of channel content and development strategies.Part four is an analysis to the development of Guangxi Women'TV Channel, especially on the brief review of the history of Guangxi Women'TV Channel, the programming schedule and marketing strategy as well.Part five summarizes the current predicament China's Women'TV Channel encounters, clearly depicts true conditions about China's women's channel and the author provides her own ideas about the predicament and the way out for China's women's channel.Part six is an epilogue and is based on all the analysis above. It points out that the development of Women'TV Channel should turn its focus from channel specialization to channel branding.
