As one of the key technology of improving reliability of the optoelectronic system, built-in test technology (BIT) has become an important research direction of this field. In this paper, for the purpose of improving applicable properties of optoelectronic integrated system, the BIT technology of infrared video capturing system has been systematically studied. Communication check among each device in the system is achieved, while the functions of status display and self-test control on the PC side are also completed.First, the background and research significance of BIT, which is the core concept of the subject, are briefly introduced.Second, in view of this video capturing system, the unique advantages of utilizing FPGA for monitoring and control of the overall system is studied, while three necessary development environments of designing software and a variety of resources used for the design are introduced.Third, the software design of overall design process and framework based on FPGA are established, since the practical applications and technical difficulties of BIT, mostly false alarms, are analyzed and researched in depth. The BIT design is divided into two blocks: power-on self-test and periodic self-test. And the procedures of BIT among each module are accomplished according to the characters of FPGA, STM32 and DM642.Fourthly, how to use Visual C++Builder for programming to carry out various functions of client software was described.The whole features were as follows:the device initialization and their status display; the control of BIT testing process, which means that the system can always be tested and the working status of the device will be shown on the client; the check of false alarm by the change of status and the display of information on the interface; the history status information can be kept in the interface, while it can also be removed at any time.Finally, the work done and problems are summarized and reflected in view of the software operation on three modules of the system and PC end.
