This paper describes the design of a radar signal acquisition and processing system based on the polarization scattering matrix, which measures the polarization scattering matrix of the radar target, so the polarization information can be used for radar target identification.According the overall scheme, the paper discusses the theory and methods of measuring scattering matrix, presents the hardware circuit design for radar transmission signal control and radar echo signal data acquisition. The ADC chip AD9218 is used to implement two-channel analog to digital converting. FPGA circuit is designed, to control the transmission and reception of radar pulse signal, and to process the echo signal and transmit to other controller. The USB controller CY7C68013A receives data from FPGA and transfers the data to the computer.Following the scheme and hardware, the software is designed including the FPGA hardware programme, USB firmware and the computer software. So we can use the computer operating system for data transmission through USB, the data will be written to the computer hard disk. To measure the scattering matrix in FPGA, the computing method implement in FPGA is discussed. For specific target, we can measure the scattering matrix on hardware to achieve target identification and anti-jamming using polarization.
