| Bar code has been widely used in commercial industry as a mature auto identification technology, but its application in manufacturing industry just started. The adoption of bar code technology in the manufacturing industry will be more popular with increase of importance in quality and management. The application of the bar code in the manufacturing industry is more complicated than in the commercial industry. Innovation is needed when applying this technology because there is no standards in the manufacturing industry and every enterprise has their own demand. The technology is successfully applied in engine assembly process, which opened up new avenues for the application of logistics dispatching, Virtual Electronic kanban and the tracking of quality. There's not only common bar code scanner, but PDA ( Personal Digital Assistant) as well, which builds a relatively complete production management platform for improving company's production management level, response speed to customers' requirement and promoting product quality and strengthening core competitiveness. |
