ZigBee is a new wireless communication technology, focuses on the fileds of low-cost, low-power consumption, short distance, and especially for the Low-Rate Wireless Personal Area Network(LR-WPAN). it widely use in military, industry and intelligence home etc. However, due to late emergence of ZigBee technology, the specification and application is still continuous improving and developing. The paper researches and simulates the Mesh network establishment program under the Zigbee Protocol, and then proposes an improvement program. By simplifying the process and reducing the coordinator to join on the nodes processing time. The simulation found that the improved program can effectively reduce the delay and avoid conflict.Against the AODV algorithm for the inadequacy of the high control overhead, so here proposes an improvement routing algorithm, named AODVjr. The AODVjr algorithm bases on the fastest path routing by simplifying the routing discovery and routing table, delete the Hello message in order to achieve the purpose of reducing control overhead. To further achieve the low control overhead, the paper uses the ZBR routing algorithm which combinates the AODVjr algorithm and Cluster-Tree algorithm. The ZBR is a compromise of the two algorithms, not only has the ability of routing optimization of the AODVjr, but also the advantage of the Cluster-Tree such as simple and no initial delay. The simulation shows that the improved algorithm can better meet the design requirements, with the feasibility of achieving. Then, the paper simulates a complete Zigbee network process based on the NS2 and builds a simple Zigbee Mesh network on JN5139 development board using the improved programs and ZBR algorithm. And then do the relevant testes on this Mesh network to verify the work done by the previous chapters.
