ZigBee is an open international standard which has low cost, low power consumption, low data rate, low complexity, and high reliability of short-range wireless communication technology. In automation industry, family automation and wireless sensor network and other application areas, ZigBee has become a hot spot. With the continuous development of ZigBee, it will become a new revolution for the modern information society.ZigBee networks use batteries for power supply system, so the network lifecycle depends on the effective use of battery. Because the energy of battery is limited, so we must find other ways to prolong the life expectancy of network. Developing better algorithm to save network energy, the effective use of node energy can extend the life of the network. The efficient use of energy algorithm has become an important subject of ZigBee network. This paper firstly introduces ZigBee network and the basic characteristics of concepts, then introduces the expatiated of Cluster-Tree routing algorithm and AODVjr routing algorithms, analyzes these two routing algorithms. This paper analyzes the network energy and prolongs the network life cycle from two aspects. Base on two different routing algorithms proposes energy optimization.Base of energy optimization, ZigBee routing algorithms combine the AODVjr routing algorithms and Cluster-Tree routing algorithms. AODVjr routing algorithms can inquire the routing, transmit data by neighbor node, and can route according to the destination address. Cluster-Tree routing algorithm does not consider routing, directly transmits the data to parent node or child node, so that it needs less energy. In network operation process, setting an energy threshold primarily is used to distinguish two algorithms. If the node energy exceeds the minimum surplus energy threshold, it means the node must use AODVjr algorithm; if the node power is lower than the minimum surplus energy, it means the threshold of the node energy shortage, use Cluster-Tree algorithm. Finally the networks energy can reach a balance, extending the whole network operation time.Meanwhile, this paper uses NS2 simulator for AODVjr algorithm and Cluster-Tree algorithm, improved routing algorithms, and does more detail research for the result. The experimental results prove the improved algorithm can effectively save network's energy consumption.
