Display technology is defined as one of the world's sunrise industries in the new century. For decades, the display technology is a most widely used and most popular technology for its high cost performance. It has been widely used in stations, terminals, squares as well as enterprises and institutions. The display technology has become good information dissemination and communication tools in all kinds of work units and departments. Traditional display technology used a simple 8-bits or 16-bits single-chip microcontroller as the core. There are a lot of limitations in its computational speed, memory capacity, storage space and communication etc. It is difficult to achieve highly dynamic graphic display and the high gray-scale display. And it is unable to meet the demands of the high information processing capacity and the high speed places.In this paper, ARM+FPGA control method was sum up based on LED display control principle, the realization of gray-scale and color display principle. Samsung S3C2410 chips were used on the LCD display interface. Display data reorganization module and non-linear logic modules were designed with FPGA to realize a high-performance LED dot matrix display. The embedded Linux operating system was studied at the same time. Finally, Framebuffer device module control technology was discussed in detail and LED display and management application were developed based on ARM platform.The two innovation points in this paper were data reorganization and non-linear duty-cycle calibration technique.
