Workflow-based Office Systems Design And Implementation

Office Automation is based on computer technology,communicate technology,system science and behavior science.It continues to make people some office business recur to all kinds of office equipments and these office equipments and office workers form a man-machine information resoucre.Office Automation is an information system which is made of all kinds of office equipments and office workers.It provides service for given goals and makes people count on all these kinds of office equipments.The end aims of this system are to make good use of information resource to enhance productivity,work efficiency and quality and assistant decision-making.With the quick developing of modem science technology,especially the development of computer,network,communication and automation technology,office automation has been widely applied and become an important symbol of modem society.It is also a very important component for the informationalize construction of universities.In this paper,the concept of OA and its current development status in the domestic and overseas along with its correlative technology are firstly introduced.And then,through the analysis of workflow technology,which is the key point of building an OA system,we can have a whole recognition of OA and workflow.In order to conduct the exploration of applied system,it is vital to analyse,design and model the system,which is quite important for the promotion of quality reliability and repetion of the software,also for the shortening the period of software exploration.UML (Unified modeling Language) is the modeling language that can be applied for large scale system.It can not only support the analysis and design of Object-Orientation,but also support software development Process.As a standard language in the object-oriented software project field,UML is rich in expressing.But UML is only a standard modeling language,it is not a standard development process.During the actual development and design,UML needs the concrete process to support.Rational Unified Process(RUP) is the interative and incrementive process which is driven by use case and is based on the frame. When RUP is combined with UML in the actual development process,it is propitious to intuite and clarity analysis and design of the system and can reduce the risk of the system development.Meanwhile it has the virtue which can control the development process of the entire system and the system entirement maintenance.This paper takes the design and development of an OA System.as an exemplification to analyze the demand of the whole system initially,find out some important functions that the system will play,and describe the idea of the overall design of the system.Secondly, the paper clarifies how to use the workflow technique in the OA system implementation, how to deal with the matters based on workflow as well as how to allow a workflow manager with certain authority to define a specific workflow in the system by oneself, establish the valuable file layout template freely,and allow files,information or task to transfer between participants according to specific regulations in the whole workflow.The last chapters of this article introduce the design and implementation of the document management subsystem with the application of workflow technique in detail.
