The long distance education is a kind of education that delivers courses to off-campus students through video and audio by using computer science techniques including real-time and non-real time applications. The characters of this sort of education are as the following: the separation between students and teachers, adopting the specific transmission system and communication media to conduct teaching; the variety of the ways of information transmission; the flexibility of the learning places and modes. This kind of education has the advantage of maximizing the teaching resources and emphasizes the student-centered mode of teaching. The current problem of it is the lack of teaching resources, so in the process of enriching the teaching resources, it seems very necessary to promote the function of the web teaching platform, provide both students and teachers with a virtual environment where they can communicate, discuss and compete against each other and integrate the resources of sections about recruitment, students affairs, teaching affairs, financial affairs and general affairs.Cavanaugh (2004) stated in his recent research about successful long distance education: the successful long distance education consists of three interdependent and related periods, which are educational resources, educational process and educational outcome. The organization of subjects teaching resources is the essential job in the process of establishment of resources tank of long distance education. In order to meet the requirements of intelligent zed checking, automatically producing the personalized course wares aiming at students of different levels and getting the function of web question-solving, at the same time, to meet the personalized request of students in the process of long distance learning, the technology of Agent and database tank have been applied to strengthen the interacted training and tests, which makes the autonomous teaching mode come true.J2EE is a four-level structure which is exoteric, standard-oriented and used to develop, manage and implement, and it is the enterprise-level application which is server-centered. The group wares of EJB may function as the renewable, extendable and transplantable groupware application; while applying the mode of engine of Velocity, the management system with web mode development can be realized. So it is obvious to see that J2EE-based long distance education system has the apparent advantages.This article discusses how to build up a web platform of long distance education with the technology of J2EE, namely,"the application system of web long distance teaching". With this, we can choose the reasonable computer mode and advanced technologies, enhance the stability and flexibility of the platform, meet the requirements of extending and interoperating, realize the easy operation between the share of web teaching resources and the system and finally make preparation for the achievements of the long distance education. This article mainly focuses on how to integrate the recruitment, teaching affairs and teaching contents into the system and enhance the efficiency with related technology.
