Research Of Long-distance Education System Based On Data Grid

Grid integrates all resources in Internet to become a super virtual computer. It is a integrated, collateral computing and the resource environment whose core realizes resources sharing (including computating resources, memory resources, corresponding resources, software resources, information resource, knowledge resources and so on), eliminating the isolated information island in isomerous and distributed network enviroment. The campus grid is the realization of grid technology in the campus scope。 The campus grid can integrate all kinds of computing resources in an effective way, hide its internal isomerism and dymatic character to form a high-performance computing enviroment of mutual usage, mutual collaboration and relatively transparence for users in order to provide the highly effective and credible coordination computing service.The long-distance education has the tendency to develop rapidly in global scope。 But the existing long-distance education system has some faults generally such as lacking the widespread resources cooperation, the imperfect long-distance education standards and the difficulties which the network isomerism brings.These reasons cause that the education resources are not able to share in wide range and the teaching resources develop reaptedly. The appearance of grid technology solves these problems for us because its core idea is to share information and resources。 The grid technology has already primary applied to many fields.But its application is deficiency in the long-distance education. So it is necessary and significant to study how to apply grid technology to long-distance education.This article first introducs the general situation of the long-distance and the problems it faces, then introduces the definition, structure and application of grid, and points out the grid may solve the problem which the long-distance education faces. Finally it puts forward the long-distance education project schema based on the campus grid by combining grid technology and long- distance education to solve the issuance, registration and discovery of the teaching resources.
