R & D, Based On The J2me Mobile Phone Game "band Of Brothers"

Along with the fast advancement of tele-communication, mobile phone, as the common terminal device, has become more and more powerful. Meanwhile, OS of high complexity is developed by each mobile device manufacturer. For instance, Symbian releases EPOC OS, Microsoft releases Stinger OS on the other hand, not mention most manufacturers develop nonstandard OS for their own devices. This is awful for mobile application developers. It could be quiet difficult to get familiar with development platform and API library of each OS. In order to have developers concentrate on improving product itself, Sun Corporation set up a solution, namely J2ME.J2ME is abbreviation of Java 2, Micro Edition. It can not be defined as a software product, or a simple development standard. Actually, J2ME is a set of technology and standard which support all kind of pocket embedded devices, e.g. PDA, mobile phones. With modularized structure and"Write once, run anywhere"feature, various application products can be developed and integrated easily. The key advantage of J2ME is it's compatible with all mobile devices which support JVM. Therefore, Manufacturers like Motorola and Nokia, all consider support of Java application as an important feature of their products.On the other hand, mobile game development, as a burgeoning IT industry, has grown quickly along with the whole gaming industry. Combination of powerful mobile devices and J2ME can support brilliant games on mobile phones. Based on development experience of a business game , this dissertation mainly researches J2ME game development, including game design, resource organization, code structure and implement. The whole project lasted about 8 months, and the team was managed by me as a game producer.
