Wireless communication network is developing quickly in recent years, but most of them are based on some fixed infrastructures, such as base stations. The appearance of Ad Hoc network makes it is possible that people communicate with each other freely whenever and wherever. Furthermore, The Ad Hoc networks are suit for military and urgent applications due to the rapid organizing of networks and the outstanding ability of destruction-resistance and self-recovery.Routing protocol is one of the key technologies of Ad Hoc networks. It's very import for the development of the QoS routing protocol that meet the requirement of transmitting heavy traffic business such as voice, video .etc, but it realize QoS routing uncomfortably because the Ad Hoc is a network that has multichip path ,mobile and decentralized, while the ability of terminal was limited. Currently there are many QoS strategies proposed,we have classified them in Route-Based and Route-Independent Approaches. Route-Based solutions is focused in this Paper, which is called QoS routing. This paper introduce several Ad Hoc routing protocols firstly, such as AODV,DSDV,DSR,TORA protocols, and then try to simulate them on NS2. Secondly,AODV protocol and MAODV protocol are researched seriously. Cares about the research, some works are done as follow.1) Design a method to calculate the link bandwidth and end-to-end delay using expanding HELLO message.2) Realize a new QoS routing protocol called QAODV based on AODV protocol. It adds two Parameters to the routing chosen Policy which are bandwidth and time delay.3) Realize a new routing protocol called OQAODV based on QAODV.4) Done some research on MAODV, and design a new QoS routing protocol called QMAODV based MAODV.The result of the experiment was indicated when the networks meet a heavy traffic, QAODV ,OQAODV performance well than AODV in the same scene and QMAODV performance well than MAODV in the same scene. So, in the real network, when the network have a slight traffic, AODV protocol can be used for uncast communication, MAODV protocol can be used for multicast communication; When the network traffic is heavy ,QAODV and OQAODV can be use for uncast communication, QMAODV can be used for multicast communication . In this way, the merit of AODV can be reserved and the performance of network can be improved in heavy traffic.
