AD-HOC net_work is constituted by a group of wireless mobile nodes which can communicate with each other. Meanwhile, AD-HOC net_work is a non-core network. AD-HOC net_work can be constructed quickly at any time any where. However, its advantages determine its drawbacks too. For example, no infrastructure means that every node in this network is self-powered; consequently, self-powered means every node has energy bottleneck; node can move freely determines that the network topology can vary easily; as a result, variable topology means network's robustness can be broken easily.AD-HOC route protocol can be classified into two classes:unicast and multicast. In this paper, we mainly focus on MAODV which based on tree. Based on recent research, its robustness is not good. Besides that it can not adapt to large topo and large speed circumstance. We implement node's energy criterion and proactive judge on link break criterion in MAODV to improve its capability.In this paper, some research has been implemented which include:(1) analysis the common accepted uni-cast and multicast protocols; tell the difference between unicast and multicast routing protocols; meanwhile, I analysis several multicast protocol which belong to different class in detail. (2) according to the disadvantage of traditional MAODV protocol, I modify this multicast protocol and propose a new multicast protocol called MAODV-EP. (3) simulate MOADV and MAODV-EP protocol in the NS2(network simulator 2) and analysis the simulating result which indicates that MAODV-EP is better than MAODV in some evaluating standards. The result indicates that in distribute ratio, network lifetime and normalized overhead aspects, MAODV-EP is better than MAODV. Meanwhile, in multicast tree repair times aspect, MAODV-EP is worse than MAODV. Overall, MAODV-EP's comprehensive capability is better than MAODV.
