Along with the development of economy and the progress of society, tourism has became assignable economic growth point in the society development process. Travel map is a important carrier of travel informaton. Traditional travel map statistics can not meet the mutilevel need of the uesers. WebGIS technology provide new thought for realizing travel informationization, it make use of abstract map language to express affluent geography space information and help to the fast release of travel information, thus it realize timely and effective social sharing of travel information. This paper carrys on the research in WebGIS application in tourism under the support of Internet Map Server For Arcview(ArcIMS)which is released by ESRI Corporation in America.First of all, this paper has presented a WebGIS system which is applied objectively in the travel information system. Under the support of ArcIMS platform, the system has taken B/S constitution mode. According to the goal of whole design of system to project the systematic function model, it has organized to realize map management, map search, statistic output and other function from the practical point of view.Then, in order to efficiently reserve and manage the picture and image space statistics and its related statistics major in the vector statistics; the paper designs the systematic statistics warehouse treated by the space statistics and attribute statistics, takes the manner of map objective level to make sure the correspondent relationship between space statistic and its relative attribute statistics, realizing the logical and physical unity between space statistic and its relative attribute statistics to establish orgin travel management space map of the combination geographic space information and travel statistics.Finally, resolving project is constituted by the ArcIMS based on the map information, applying ASP.NET and Javascript technology to edit code and realize the origin travel theme map, eagle eyes map and statistic search. In the practical application, it is better to realize map zoom, map indication, statistic search, map level control and statistic output and so on.
