With the application of computer network, which was resulted from the combination of computer and communication in modern teaching, more and more non-paper tests are used in many subjects. In order to play the function of campus network as far as possible, build standardized, scientific and systematic exams, the management of test database and network-examination based on computer network are researched widely. The examination system based on the network environment can not only more objectively and impartially reflect the students' knowledge, but also cut the cost of examination and improve the test efficiency.The examination system of the Xichang institute based on network environment is described in this dissertation, which uses C/S structure, selects Delphi 2007 as the development tools. The efficiency and quality of auto-building test depend on the design of test database and the algorithm of building test, which select the questions randomly and combine them into one available test. As an objective evaluation method for the quality of teaching, the management system of test database is planed based on the strict design theory of database, the random and fixed test are realized in the management system. As the statistical analysis of the data in the test, some kinds of graphic are shown to evaluate the teaching effect and the quality of the dissertation effectively. In order to distribute the examinee files safely on the network, the relative data is coded and compressed.Firstly, the research situation, the technical background, features and applications of the examination system based on computer network are analyzed in this dissertation. The structure, model and the function of the system are designed according to the demand of the second-level computer exam of Sichuan province. Secondly, the dissertation mainly studies the design and development process of the examination system based on computer network using Delphi technique, describes the basic design of the network exam system, the technical background of the system development; meanwhile, the overall solutions and the specific function of the system are researched in detail; the design, realization method, and development tools and related technology including in the system are elaborated also. In addition, this dissertation also highlights the function module of user log on, registering, user management, test management, online-answer and part of programming. Finally, the realization process of this test system are summarized, the establishment of more effective data analysis model is discussed.The system has the interactive friendly interface, easy operation, strong commonality, etc,. The system has been successfully applied in the computer grade examination of Xichang institute, it performs stably and reliably. There is certain meaning for the school to save the cost of teaching.
