Built Mobile Digital Library System Based On Windows Mobile Platform

Mobile Computing is a computing network in which computers can move freely and it is transparent to users. By reason of the rapid development of mobile communication technology and the prevalence of mobile computing terminals, especially the rapid development and wide application of the software technologies such as Web service, XML, J2EE, .NET, mobile computing is becoming one research hotspot in the related fields. Domestic and overseas research about mobile computing is still in its infancy. The research of mobile computing is still immature, but it has broad prospects.On the basis of mobile computing technology, this paper studies the library services and the construction of a mobile digital library system by which users can access to the remote digital library system and use the service functions such as user registration, browsing, seeking and booking the collected books or reading books online with their Pocket PC and Smart Phone in a Non-contact. On the other hand, the system can provide the Librarians with the ability to plan the book procurement precisely and read the different needs of different readers quickly and accurately by analyzing books downloaded history. By doing so, the system realizes personalized library information services. The CRM module can make the system keep in touch with users in a two-way communication at any time.Taking a brief introduction of the related concept and characteristics of mobile computing as starting point, the paper focuses on the construction of a mobile digital library system based on the ?background of a university and the application platform of Windows Mobile 6.0 mobile intelligent terminal. By the combination of the respective advantages of C/S and B/S framework, the paper proposed a mobile application developing model grounds on Smart Client/Server framework. It discusses the key technologies of the system, Such as Slow and unreliable network-oriented mobile applications, Data Synchronization between library server and mobile devices and multi-school joint digital library services based on Web Service technology; furthermore, it proposed a practical solution. In order to accomplish the construction of a full-function digital full-text search and data mining functional modules are discussed at the last part of the paper.The content related to mobile application developing technologies based on library service in the paper is currently less studied in the domestic. The research on the current domestic library services model and its mobile applications has a certain theoretical and practical value.
