As an important part of logistics industry,the efficient and modern management of storage plays a great role in enhancing the efficiency and reducing the cost of enterprise.Nowadays,warehouse management,especially registration of trucks and goods,depends on manpower,which causes both high labor cost and high error rate. Therefore,it is an inevitable trend to realize automatic warehouse management via advanced techniques and tools,such as automatic identification technology,computer science and wireless communication technologies.To avoid the disadvantage of traditional warehouse management,this paper designs and accomplishes an active-RFID-based warehouse management system,using popular RFID technology.Firstly,the paper combines gradually mature RFID and WSN technology.According to 4-level network protocol of WSN,the paper proposes a new 4-level network protocol to use on active RFID.The protocol could not only meet the need of highly efficient transportation and low power cost,but also have a simple software architecture.Secondly,to make full use of the advantage of active RFID,a series of low power algorithms of active RFID are designed,by learning the idea of WSN low power design.The validity of low power algorithms is proved by tests.Thirdly,the paper gives detailed description of hardware and software designs of the warehouse management system,with two major functions.One is vehicle locating and the other is goods information management.
