In recent years,the development of national public project,which has closely relationship with safety of public,comes into its golden-time by leaps and bounds,such as railway,metro.Safety related products request a quite high level in safety design and developing process,but most of local corporations make little sense of safety control,and their products can not achieve the national safety standard, in other words they can' t be applied.So the problem they face is to make a new standard which can be compatible with both CENELEC and the technology and management of related local enterprises,in the mean time, this standard should be maneuverability.Software as the core component in safety products plays an essential role in safety test and protect, also the software development is much more complicated than hardware design.According to these,it is quite necessary to make a standard for safety software process control.This paper is to define the safety software,then analyze the CENELEC standards,introduce the EN50126 and EN50128 which is software associated standards,analyze the CMMI module,in order to give a base of theory.Analyze the characteristic of the safety software,that is hazard identify,avoid and control of software failure.Design a dedicated safety process containing a series of activities to deal with the software safetyana]ysis,verification and assessment issues taking into account specific requirements from the requirement analysis,design, implementation,testing,V&V,quality management and configuration management domains.The purpose of this safety process is to prevent the software from hazardous failures so as to achieve the required safety integrity level(SIL).The software development of a computer interlocking system,a typical safety critical system,is selected to be conducted following the proposed safety process and its practice is assessed and exhibited in this paper as a demonstration.
