As the important component in millimeter wave system, the high performance millimeter wave receiver plays an irreplaceable role in the result of system performance, thus, it has been an important aspect of concern for both offence and defense. Deep research module's characteristic and design method of millimeter wave receiving frond-end is considered its mission of this article, as the same time, a primary experimental system for millimeter-wave system in high power microwave effect research is developed.Simulation analysis and testing of a millimeter wave receiving system front-end components are discussed in this dissertation because of the above reasons mentioned. a brief introduction is firstly presented, including millimeter wave and its characteristics. In addition, the domestic and international development, a schematic frame, components'performance estimation of millimeter wave receiving system frond-end is included. Passive circuits of this project, including waveguide micro-strip probe and fin-line transitions and high and low impedance micro-strip Low-pass filter are analyzed theoretically and designed using HFSS and ADS. Subsequently, Low noise amplifier, IF amplifier, and mixer is given a deeply show. At the same time, design and notes of all function module cavities and Bias circuits are discussed, while, machining, mounting and testing of different function modules are realized using HMIC, incorporating guidelines and technology level. Test data show good agreements with technical requirements. Finally, all different modules mentioned above are summarized, millimeter wave receiving frond-end designed can meet with technical requirements, but some advantages and disadvantages about it are brought out, especially for circuits, cavities and test, so there is room for improvement.
