Mixer is one of the most key components in modern communication systems. However, it is more and more difficult to achieve the local oscillation source with the same band when the system is working at higher and higher frequency. Millimeter wave harmonica mixer becomes a promising technique to overcome the difficulty. In this dissertation, the mixed theory is comprehensively introduced at first, and then an 8mm fourth-harmonic mixer has been designed with simulation software. The mixer circuit mainly includes the fin line at RF input port, LO input port band pass filter, IF output port lowpass filter, matching network and open/short circuit stub. According to the simulation result with computer—aided design software, the integrated circuit is fabricated using Duriod5880 with 0.254mm thick and dielectric constant ε_r of 2.22 .The result in measurement is that the range of the conversion loss is from 12.5dB to 16.2dB when the IF changes from 100MHz to 1000MHz, and the mixer can meet the requirement of the system in application.
