Based On Vrml Visualization Library System Design And Implementation

Along with continuous developing of network technology,as the emerging technology,at the end of the 20th century,virtual reality has been widely used in virtual tourisms,virtual campuses,virtual exhibitions and so on.Based on the comparison among kinds of the technology related to virtual reality,using VRML(Virtual Reality Modeling Language),taking the library of Qufu Normal University in Rizhao Campus as prototype,the author attended to at build a virtual library with some practical functions.The research work of this paper mainly includs four parts:Firstly,it expatiates on the basic concepts,characteristics and present reaserch status at home and abroad.The paper puts forward the background,significance,destination and researchful contents of this task on the basis.Secondly,according to the actual situation,combining 3D MAX and VRML,the author completes the modeling work of visual library and Optimize the model.Thirdly,the article explors the programming interactive and non-programming interactive,based on VRML sensor and javaScript,achieves controlling to behavior of objects,and then realizes all kinds of visual library system's interactive funtions.Fourthly,conduct a trial investigation in order to understand the deficiencies and imperfections of system.This study focuses on the actualization of modeling and interactivity of visual library.The interactive functions include:the realization of automatic roaming,the realization of three-dimensional books' retrieval,the realization of visual books and the realization of the simulation system for the freshmen to borrow books.The idea of visual books and the function of simulative book-borrowing which is realiazed through numerous interactions,are difficulty and innovation of the study.In this paper,the methods of literature research and investigate is used,literature research is mainly used in expatiating on the concepts of virtual reality and status of virtual reality research at home and abroad.Investigation includes questionnaire and verbal survey,the main purpose of the investigation is to understand the advice of library staff to the system and of the feel of user.The design and production of visual library system reproduces the scene of library in Rizhao Campus of Qufu Normal University vividly and explores the function of visual books preliminarily.It's a useful attempt for applying virtual reality technology to the library.
