| Modern distance education is a new type of education accompanied by the development of modern information technology. It helps people to build life-long learning system. Because of the economy, experimental conditions, laboratory time and space constraints, it is difficult for traditional experimental teaching to satisfy the needs of remote learners.Virtual experiment is a kind of Computer simulation experiment, which based on network technology and virtual reality technology; and privides a wealth of multimedia information. It provides students a wealth of experimental resources and good conditions for study. So, It enhances learners'enthusiasm and initiative,which aslo enhances the effectiveness of distance learning.However,the current application of virtual experiment limited to the colleges and universities.Virtual experiment on the network is rare, and its level of interaction design can not fully meet the needs of learners.In view of this, based on the modern teaching theory and computer technology, we try to provide an effective teaching virtual experiment for distance learners online.In this paper, we firstly introduce the current development and the application of virtual experiment at home and abroad.Then we analyze the the necessity and feasibility of virtual experiment in modern distance education. On this basis, we draw a detailed analysis of the connotation of virtual experiment, characteristics, classification, the theory virtual experiment,its basic characteristics,teaching strategies and the teaching model. Secondly,we developed computer virtual assembly experiment and principles of computer organization examples with the theory of virtual experiment and VRML technology.After that,we put the virtual assembly experiment into use. During this period, we developed an experiment teaching program, which combined the advantages of real experiment and virtual experiment.At last, both summary of our research and future resarch of virtual experiment in the thsis are given. |
