Since the reform and open policy, the children books' market has developed quickly. Under the new situation it gives us a new content. Therefore, to fully knowing children books' market is useful for us to produce better books. The children books' market also have many problems, we should find the problems and analyses them .Then find the methods to solve the problems. In all the final goal of this article is to build a better children books' market which is good for the press and distributor; good for the society and economy.The article begins with the children books definition, and analyses the classification and characteristic of the children books. Children books have many different classifications by different standards. First, it has three types which are pure words books, words and picture books and pure picture books by the different message digit second, according to the different age the books has six type for 0-3 years old children, for 6-9 years old children ,for 9-12 years old children ,for 12-15 years old children and for 15-18 years old children .Third , according to the different content ,the book have ten types which are children literature books, infants books, cartoon, children classical books, science books, game books, art books, ideological and education books, English,books and composition books.then this article inspected the modem history of children books' market. The history of children books' market have five period which are Opium War period, 54 period, 54 and the nation founding period, after the nation founding period, as well as open reform period, according to the definition of market ,this article analyses the present situation of children books' market from children books, the producer of children books, the expensive side of children books and the distributor of children books .This part needs a lot of data statistical work and the literature retrieval work.In the third part, this article find the problems of the children books' market. First, the quantity of children books increases but he content decreases. The content is old ,the form is unitary and the quality is bad. second, many bad books still existed in the market third, the division of readers age is not accurate. Forth, The competition of press leads to the repetition publication and the same content , same form books. Fifth, the best-selling children books' type is unitary .In addition, this article have a brief analysis of the reason for the problems at the end of this chapter.Finally, this article elaborated the methods and strategy of the children books' market development from macroscopic and microcosmic angle. The macroscopic methods are strengthening the child's position and building a good reading environment The microscopic methods as follows : first survey the market and analyses reader's different characteristic to divide a more detailed market ;second, set up brand consciousness; third, carry out the flexible and diverse sale promotional activities.
