Media is called "Crownless King" in the Western countries, it exerts a tremendous influence on the society. Harmoniousness and violent clashes between media and the conviction and sentence during the media supervision on the practice of judicature, and the violent clashes brought the problem of "rail by media". Media's adverse effects on conviction and sentence are mainly brought through the intermediary of public opinion. Here is the process: media whips up public opinion, public opinion arouses mass indignity and cries for mercy which ultimately become two elements that exert impact on conviction and sentence. The thesis insists on thoroughly analyzing the reasons, which lead to the negative effect by media action.
