| Virtual reality (VR) technology can produce a rich and miraculous environment in which Human-Computer Interactions are natural. So it has powerful superiority in simulation demonstration, military training, experiment and so on. In essence, "Virtual reality is a 3D environment produced with computers, which may be a real or virtual one, to express information through artificial experience." With the development of software and hardware, the direct interaction naturally between people and a virtual world with strong perception effect can already be realized by a PC-based virtual reality system of desktop.With the application of modern technology, Multimedia Classrooms with multimedia devices are being used more frequently in schools as a trend. Unfortunately, a great number of teachers and students have no access to systematic training on multimedia devices. Many functions of these devices are kept unused almost all the time. What makes things worse is that people always break down these devices, thus the teaching activities will be interrupted. Educators begin to place an emphasis on VR technology for some breakthroughs.At present, there is no uniform technical standard for VR software. This results in difficulties in choosing a suitable technology for a task among them. On the basis of the comparison of the properties and features of different VR technologies and taking the needs of teachers into consideration, this paper tries to find out a way to develop the VR effectively and solve the problems of the school education and the distance education.In order to find out VR development solution for education, this research has analyzed the present and the developmental tendency of VR, analyzed the domestic and foreign VR documents through retrieval the core of CJFD. Some mainstream desktop virtual reality technologies were compared thoroughly. In addition, an intensive study of Multimedia Classroom System has been made. Due to these efforts, a project named "Virtual Multimedia Classroom" has been developed. After comparisons of cases and effect Analysis had been made, the work has been proved to be effective.This paper proposes two technological solutions of VR development. The first VR technological solution is for small or simple scenes. Through function analyses of the mainstream Desktop VR Technology, some views are proposed as following: Java, VRML, Viewpoint, Cult3D and Virtools are suitable for the development of simple and low-cost scene. The works developed by Virtools can be translated into files with suffix of .exe and can be delivered faster. Small scene also can be developed by EON. However, the requirement of EON software for computer configuration is better. The second VR technological solution is for large and complex scenes. Large and complex scenes should be developed by the professional VR tools assisted with 3D, such as 3DS MAX, MAYA, and so on. EON Reality has excellent visual effects in all aspects from the low-end desktop VR applications to the top-end applications. It can cater to different requirements with different hardware. So this paper is confined as "A Research of the Virtual Reality Technology Based on EON Studio in Multimedia Classroom."This research developed the VR Multimedia Classroom with immersion feeling which is created by many models such as VR devices, lights, stereos, auxiliary facilities attached, and so on. EON is used in the development of virtual interactive operation of multiple media equipment and animation to solve the difficulty in signal and interface. Help information was set in the VR world. The EON product has gone through a effectiveness analysis in ways of questionnaire and callback, of which the result is: perfect interface; preliminary complete functions; good running status; good interactive operation; preliminary suitable operation similarity.The following three points are the value of this paper: Firstly, this research has found out a VR development solution for education; Secondly, by developing the work named "Virtual Multimedia Classroom", the teaching of the knowledge on Multimedia Classroom System and practice problems are realized; Third, this research can enlighten other technologies to apply to education for improving the integration of technology and curriculum. |
