Web-based Discipline Construction Management Information Systems Analysis And Design,

With the rapid development of computer networks and Internet,it has already become the development tendency for the information system in the universities to use advanced MIS and software development is platform to manage information scientifically. The discipline development is playing a leading role in the development of universities. Designed for the needs for network information management of the discipline development in Hunan University of Science and Technology,this paper tries to develop a "Web-based MIS for the discipline development", which applies the B/S structure and advanced Asp techniques so as to have multi-level users and high security features. Its functions involve a lot of aspects such as to look for and revise the information of all the prizes and appraisal of academic group, paper, scientific research projects, academic mono-graph, textbook, scientific research and teaching and the discipline research. At the same time ,it puts forward the idea of applying the data mining technology to the web-based MIS of the discipline de-velopment to make it more intelligent.This paper first outlines the basic concept and development process of MIS,introduces the technology of web and ASP,and illustrates the chioce of the development tools and then from the demand analysis to the database design,it gives a detailed and systematic design of software design period and finally comes up with a "web-based MIS of the discipline development",which includes the information in quiries and data management function. The design work involves the design of the front-page and back-ground database. And at the same time,through a further exploration and research of concerned technology,it puts forward the idea to apply the data mining technology to the MIS of the discipline development. Based on the database Access,this system uses ASP and IIS to establish web controls,and uses a modular method and ASP technology to break some function restrictions of static page and realize the dynamic page and transmit the result in the form of HTML to the Internet Explorer of the client end. In this way people with any kinds of Internet Explorer can scan the page resulted from ASP.This system is a practical level research projects of the author in Hunan University of Science and Technology, which implements all kinds of inquiries and management of the discipline development information in the universities and meets the needs of the users at all levels for access to information. This system can meet the teachers management unit needs and improve office efficiencyand advance higher education "paperless office"process.
