Data setting of remote wheeled platform is a new concept for mechanical and electrical integrated equipment which is combined wheeled vehicle with robot. It can reach the place where the people can't reach with extinguishers, squirt guns, guns and small-scaled launchers, and aim the target, spurt or shoot in case of extinguishing a fire and anti-terrorism. In fact, it is a simple robot.This paper is concentrated on the control system of this data setting of remote wheeled platform. The control system is a type of remote centralized system, receiving and processing video signal, range signal and traveling signal, and controlling the drive circuit of chassis, data and CCD sensor are accomplished by the remote master computer. The modular designing ideas are applied in the control system. It contains nine modules.The overall framework of control system is built on the basis of introducing the overall layout of mechanical system and analyzing the machine action of mechanical system. Functions of driving, finding range, video and communication are explained, analysis and design of the modules are completed concurrently and the technical features of each module are established. On this basis, the drive modules are concretely analyzed and designed, the hardware and software design of step-motor driving control system with AT89C51 microprocessor at the core are accomplished.
