Along with the rapid development of science and technology, the wide use of micro-electronics technology and the increasingly sophisticated electromagnetic environment, there is a growing awareness of the harm caused by electrostatic discharge. The electrostatic protection system is a fundamental project in enterprise production system and a guarantee of high-reliability products for electronic product manufacturers. As production managers and engineers, they should not only make the electrostatic protective design to the products but establish a sound and practical electrostatic protection system in the production process. The adoption of effective means targets at a control and prevention of electrostatic hazards and minimized losses caused by static electricity.The dissertation, using the electrostatic protection engineering practice in the production of digital cable TV set-top box as an example, from the technical and technological perspective, gives a systematic analysis of the theory of electrostatic production, hazards form of electrostatic in electronics industry, human flesh static and electrostatic prevention principle. it made an analysis of the production process and production chain in the production of digital cable television set-top box and brought forth the introduction of ESD protection system in the design aspects of the proposed cable digital set-top boxes production process. It conducted a research in the basic methods of electrostatic protection, classification and disposal methods of electrostatic sensitive devices, ESD protection in the workshop environment, human electrostatic protection, the establishment of anti-static work area (EPA), electrostatic protective grounding systems, anti-static material and equipment selection and equipment anti-static equipment measures. The adoption of effective means targets at a control and prevention of electrostatic hazards and minimized losses caused by static electricity, and produced a technical document on technical management.
