With the development of air traffic, the efficient administration of the planes and cars in the airport is urgently necessary. Of course, the best solution is to build new airport, to expand the size of runway and taxiway. But these are limited by ground, fund and time. We need to apply the advanced method if this problem must be solved in the near future. In this way we can administrate and use the airport traffic efficiently. Airport surveillance system of radar (ASSR) is one of the three parts in air traffic surveillance system and used as scouting the planes and cars in the airport specially. It guarantees that the controllers can grasp the states of the airport ground traffic, then to improve the traffic efficiency, to reduce the accidents and to ensure the safety of the airport even the weather condition is very severe.Radar data processing is the key technology in ASSR. It receives the original data of radar sensors and processes them. It can provide the position, velocity, maneuvering state and attribute identity of the targets and it can calculate the track of the moving targets. Then we can track and watch over these targets easily.In this dissertation, radar software system design and radar data processing module have been studied and discussed. The main work and innovation of this dissertation is as follows:1) We analyzed the software functional requirements of the ASSR preciously and finished the overall design and the modules interface definitions. Then we completed the development and debugging of the main programs of the remote control based on the Microsoft visual studio.NET 2005.2) In our project, the radar will return several adjacent trace points after scanning one target. In order to make the subsequent processes easier, at first we need to agglomerate these adjacent points into one target point. The standard algorithms of connected component labeling and clustering have been studied and analyzed. And we proposed a new algorithm of clustering target points based on our project and those standard algorithms.3) We read and researched a lot of academic papers about radar data processing, and made specific analysis about the key algorithms of radar data processing. At last, we chose the appropriate process algorithm for our project.4) The data processing module has been developed by using C# language as developing tool based on Microsoft visual studio.NET 2005.
