Active phased array technology, forms and steers antenna beam by controlling gain and phase of every antenna unit, has been developed as an important mean in modern radar technology. Transmit/Receive(T/R) modules are key elements in active phased array radar.Shifting of antenna main beam, raising of antenna sidelobe and dropping of antenna gain will happen in transmit or receive beam if transmit or receive channels of T/R modules are amplitude-phase inconsistency, and the performance of active phased array radar will be affected. The main reasons for amplitude-phase inconsistency of transmit channel and receive channel are analyzed based on understanding of typical configuration of T/R modules. Qualitative and quantitative analysis on amplitude-phase inconsistency of power amplifier modules are made as they are key elements in transmit channels. The main reasons for amplitude-phase inconsistency of linear pulse power amplifiers and saturated pulse power amplifiers are analyzed by means of experiments, and design considerations that improve the amplitude-phase consistency of power amplifiers are also introduced. One kind of L band linear pulse power amplifier is designed and realized, and its biggest linear output power is 48.0dBm. The amplitude consistency of the L band linear pulse power amplifiers is less than 0.3dB RMS in 60dB dynamic, and their phase consistency is less than 3°RMS in 60dB dynamic owe to the amplitude-phase design measures put forward in this thesis.
