In this article, one kind of military radar array antenna is designed and realized firstly according to some request of technical indexes, which includes the design of microstrip antenna with coupled caliber, the design of the structure of antenna's face, the calculation and comparison of antenna's pitch pattern, the analysis of directional coupler and the design of antenna's feeding network, the debugging of radar array antenna, the testing of radar array antenna. Then based on this antenna, one upswing plan is brought out, which is one kind of active phased array radar antenna that can execute 2-D phased scanning, then we analyze the T/R Modules in detail, which are the key parts of active phased array radar antenna.In this article, after the analysis of results of simulation using MATLAB software, we fix the range of taper distribution which is adapted to the low sidelobe radar array antenna, then use the HFSS software to simulate and analyze the cascade directional coupler, which is used to realize taper distribution of antenna, then proposed the plan of transformation of the wide-beam and narrow-beam through one DPDT coaxial switch, then proposed the plan of realization of active phased array radar antenna through analysis of T/R Modules.In the research of this article, we lay stress on the importance of analysis of microstrip antenna with coupled caliber, especially its radiation characteristics, the design of taper distribution and low sidelobe of radiation pattern, and the controlling of antenna's beam through phase shifters in T/R Modules.
