Based On The Intel Ipp Mpeg-2 Encoding Technology Research And Implementation

With the improvement of the technology, especially in the fields such as computer technology,data coding and compress and so on, the world IT industry enter into the digital era. In the field of broadcasting and TV, since America announced the analog TV had been abolished in 2006,the digitalization in the field has been impelled greatly. The MPEG-2 encoding equipment is one of the key equipments which is used to encode the source program of the digital TV, which quality will effect directly to the quality of digital TV program.The initial MPEG-2 encoder, is dedicated hardware encoder and Video and audio data coding on PCs also rely on the GPU (graphics processing unit) and special audio processing chip. These hardware encoders have high encoding quality and efficiency, but are expensive and can not be reused.In recent years, the continuous performance improvement of Intel ? X86 CPU and development of SSE technology for multi-media data flow make it possible to develop MPEG-2 encoder based on Intel ? X86 CPU with high encoding quality and efficiency. The Intel? Integrated Performance Primitives (Intel? IPP) software library delivers a rich set of options for developers to choose from while designing and optimizing an application with multimedia functionality, simplifying the development process and reducing the development difficulty.This dissertation bring forward a solution to MPEG- 2 encode system with Intel? IPP and a realization in software of the encode system. The main contents of the dissertation include:1.The description of various theory of picture compress.2.The explanation for MPEG-2 algorithm, including system, video and audio.3.Giving a solution of MPEG-2 encode system with Intel? IPP.4.Giving an implementation in software of encode system with Intel? IPP, and the result of testing the system.
