With the development of Internet and microelectronic technology, embedded industry has become another economic growth point of IT industry. Meanwhile, embedded technology has been widely used in all kinds of areas because of its features.Recently, in security critical area, a new product, home security gateway, combined with broadband network technology, PSTN technology and embedded technology, have been developed. This product will integrate family internal communications, electrical control, security alarm and other tasks in the same home network platforms, and implement the data interaction, unified management, and the data interaction with external public network through Network Access Technology.Meanwhile, the security and garden system are entering the various applications field in various industries more and more widely. With the high-tech improved, the intelligent home including security and garden system has become the inevitable trend of home applications. In addition, in order to develop new profit growth point, the broadband network operators is desperate to develop a new digital-family based on the broadband network. To improve the digital-family service effectual, the residential gateway is necessary.However, the domestic interconnection and intercommunication technology about home network equipment is multifarious, the technical and economical characteristics of which are various too. Without unified standards, the enterprises can not start design well, or many of these enterprises develop incompatible product using their own private protocol, which make the whole industry enclosed. In addition, various forms of access networks, such as TV networks, PSTN telephone networks, broadband networks, wireless networks, also make the development of residential gateway more difficult.To address the above problem, with researching digital home networking equipment interoperability technology, multi-network access technology, embedded software platform, and so on the basis of key technologies, the thesis gives the key technical solutions for the software and hardware platform construction in the process of developing the residential gateway on the ARM7TDMI+uClinux embedded platform.Mainly includes:1) Design of the embedded hardware platform, involves hardware platform selection, address allocation;2) Design of embedded development environment involving cross-compilation environment, cross-debugging environment;3) Design of U-Boot transplantation, including start procedure analysis, transplantation analysis;4) Design of the portability of embedded operation system, mainly about kernel transplantation analysis and Linux driver development;5) The application based CCS-100R Security Gateway, mainly about configuration and functions of CCS-100R.In this thesis,some important contents will be introduced,such as outline of the projection,analysis of the hardware platform,construction of cross-development environment,transplantion of the U-Boot and uClinux,development of specific drivers and construction of CCS-100R Security Gateway.
