Reality show was introduced into China at the end of the 20th century. It experienced imitation, localization and developed rapidly in the 21st century .At the same time, it became an important type of entertainment. The booming of reality show brought prosperity to the Chinese TV programme , met the audience's cultural consumption demand and also brought about considerable economic benefit. However, behind the huge success ,the vulgarity of content , cloning should not be overlooked. They seriously hindered the development of reality show , and caused criticism of researchers from the media and the audience.This thesis aims to reveal the features of the consumer culture in reality show. Through the representative case studies of reality show, we intend to point out that reality show is a typical text of the marriage between consumer culture and media . Alonging with concerning about the development of reality show ,we also intend to find out the abuses , carry out differentiated,localization,branded practice, and finally find out the way of sustainable development for reality show.
