Mobile communication technology has made a rapid development in the past few decades.Among them, smart antenna technology is an important breakthrough in the development of mobile communication system and has becomes the key technology of mobile communication. This article first introduced the smart antenna technology development and related principles in details, then study the content of smart antenna design theory in depth.1.The core content of smart antenna technology is the adaptive beamforming algorithm.Based on the theory of space-time correspondence, apply the promotion algorithm of LMS algorithm-DLMS algorithm and PIPLMS algorithm, which are used in the time domain filter and suitable for hardware implementation, to spatial filtering theory.2. Then introduced the principle of how it improves the adaptive array antenna operation speed in details. The computer simulation results show that the DLMS and PIPLMS adaptive beamforming algorithm when are applied to the space domain, as well as LMS, can realize the adaptive beamforming performance and automatically track the change of the desired signal and suppress jamming signal. It reaches the role of adaptive space filtering.3. In this paper, combined with modern DSP technology, using the professional FPGA digital signal processing software DSP Builder,combined with a variety of other EDA tools,finished the 4 cells' array antenna and 8 cells' array antenna based on LMS algorithm.PIPLMS algorithm and DLMS algorithm proposed in time domain was applied in the spatial adaptive filter, the design completed the DLMS,PIPLMS algorithm based on FPGA technology in spatial adaptive filter system.4.The system model simulation results in the MATLAB/Simulink Modelsim show that the designed system has good filtering performance for both high frequency signals and low frequency signals. In addition, the Modelsim simulation results and MATLAB/Simulink simulation results are basically identical, illustrates the correctness of the generated VHDL language through conversion. It instructions DLMS algorithm and PIPLMS algorithm, etc,applied to spatial adaptive filter theory are successful and effective.In this paper, using the Quartus|| software analyzed the adaptive spatial filtering systems based on LMS algorithm, DLMS algorithm and PIPLMS algorithm,etc, and concluded that the adaptive spatial filter operating speed based on DLMS algorithm is nearly doubled of it based on LMS algorithm; the adaptive spatial filter operating speed based on PIPLMS algorithm is nearly 112.4% increase from LMS algorithm, nearly 12.5% ncrease from DLMS lgorithm. Once again it shows the DLMS algorithm and PIPLMS algorithm,etc, are applied to spatial adaptive filter theory successfully and effectively, and can greatly improve the running speed of system, our study of algorithm achieves the intended purpose of this article.
